National Boating Safety School in-person safe boating training typically runs three hours. You have access to all the documentation required to apply for your Pleasure Craft Operator Card. After the three hours of instruction, you must pass a test approved by Transport Canada with a minimum score of 75%. You will receive a letter with your Pleasure Craft Operator Card. If all goes well, you can print a temporary card right away. If you don't pass the exam the first time, you can try again after 24 hours. You will be prompted to start studying the material from chapter 1 if you fail the test a second time.
